Jane Lane on canvas by shaunC
Jane Lane on canvas
Painted on a 5x5 canvas using acrylic paints.

Basic painting, but on purpose trying to keep it in the show's artistic style. This one only took 3 1/2 hours, plus I was breaking in new brushes...

I've already done a Daria a while ago, kept it in the same vein:…
Fellow Deviants,

What can I say? It's been quite hectic for me during the past couple of months. The ZICS fair came and went, did okay, had some requests to do, and a possible professional job where I did some roughs, hopefully I might get a actually paid job. Otherwise, I'll just keep going with what I'm doing.
Oz Comic-con really sneaked up on me and I was horribly UN-prepared. I was expecting to do really terrible. But I actually didn't do bad at all. I actually broke even. I was sharing a table with :iconmiles-prowerx:, and I was right next to :iconry-spirit:. During the con though, I was told by certain folks about the lack of anime/manga at the recent cons, too much Marvel/DC superheroes. So, I've decided to change my plans and will be making some prints to appeal to the anime/manga fans out there. I mean, almost every artist with a table had a Harley Quinn, or a Joker or a Deadpool print. I might as well go against the superhero grain.
Another little highlight was on the second day of the con I brought in all my painting materials and did a 'Live' painting.
FIRE MARIO Acrylics by shaunC
I did grab interest from some of the folks, and a big Mario fan purchased it while I was halfway through. It took me 7 hours to make. I did sell my other paintings as well, including the original one I did for ZICS.

So, Supanova Brisbane is the next one I'll be attending. I've set myself some goals and hopefully I'll get most of them done in time. Next year I'll be doing less cons, even though they are fun and I do feel kinda important being part of the event they've kinda have become too distracting for me and I done less art this year than I wanted. Next year I'll be concentrating on ZENYAKU #3 and another comic one-shot with Troy Mingramm writing called Cronulla Security, which is a comedic burning on Nightclub bouncers in Cronulla.

And just on another note, no more requests please. I do appreciate being asked to do so, but I have to attend to the other projects for Supanova first. Plus there has been some others that didn't ask, they just tell me what they want and then ask when will it be done. Gotta be polite with if you want a request, folks...

Anyway, that's it for the moment. I'll see you lot later...
